Miles and gallons, with no tax rate

Use this worksheet to total ifta mileage by state or province and the fuel volume you type in. It adds your numbers, but it does not look up a tax rate or estimate tax. For rates, check the quarterly filing info from your base jurisdiction and IFTA, Inc.

What you type

Enter the jurisdiction name, the distance, and the fuel volume you want to total. If you are asking, “How can I calculate my IFTA mileage?”, this page gives you a simple worksheet for adding what you already recorded. For better recordkeeping, see mileage log and ifta mileage by jurisdiction.

What you get

The calculator totals distance and totals fuel volume from the values you enter. It does not calculate a tax amount, and it does not try to decide what is taxable. Total distance here means all miles or kilometers traveled in the tax reporting period by every qualified vehicle in the fleet, whether or not a jurisdiction treats those miles as taxable.

What to do next

After you total the miles and gallons, check the quarterly rate with your base jurisdiction and file the return there. Quarterly reporting periods run January 1 to March 31, April 1 to June 30, July 1 to September 30, or October 1 to December 31. See quarter checklist and how to file ifta for the next step.

Not tax advice. Haulbook is not IFTA, Inc. and not your base jurisdiction. The rate is published quarterly by IFTA and must be checked on the official IFTA site.

Add your own rows

Type a jurisdiction, the distance, and the fuel volume. The page adds those figures. It does not look up a tax rate.
