iOS mileage and fuel log

An IFTA fuel tax report starts with miles and gallons

Haulbook helps owner operators organize an IFTA fuel tax report by keeping miles by jurisdiction and fuel receipts in one place, then exporting a miles and gallons packet. You still file with your base jurisdiction, and tax rates are published quarterly by IFTA and must be checked on the official IFTA site. Not tax advice.

What the quarterly report needs

IFTA, the International Fuel Tax Agreement, uses a quarterly reporting period and relies on total distance, distance by jurisdiction, and fuel volume. Total distance means all miles or kilometers traveled in the reporting period by every qualified vehicle in the fleet, even if a jurisdiction does not treat those miles as taxable.

What Haulbook will store

Haulbook will keep mileage by jurisdiction and fuel receipts together so you can build the records behind a filing. It will also export a miles and gallons packet you can use when you work with your base jurisdiction.

What Haulbook will not do

Haulbook will not do tax rate math or file a return with any jurisdiction. Timely filing and payment to the base jurisdiction covers the licensee's duty to file separate returns and pay each member jurisdiction individually.

Where the rate comes from

The base jurisdiction provides the tax return and the tax rates each quarter, and IFTA, Inc. also publishes tax rate files. Rates can change, so check IFTA, Inc. before you file and use the current quarter information from the official IFTA site.

Not tax advice. Haulbook is not IFTA, Inc. and not your base jurisdiction. The rate is published quarterly by IFTA and must be checked on the official IFTA site.
