A quarterly packet is not the filed return

A quarterly packet helps you organize IFTA mileage and fuel details for the quarter, but it is not the filed return. It lists total distance, distance by jurisdiction, and fuel volume so you can complete the return your base jurisdiction provides and keep your records in order.

What the packet lists

The quarterly packet brings together the core details you need for an ifta reporting form review: total distance, distance by jurisdiction, and fuel volume. It is a working summary, not the tax return itself, and it does not apply a tax rate.

For a broader overview, see our quarterly report guide, the step by step how to file IFTA page, or the quarter checklist.

Who files

The base jurisdiction furnishes the tax return forms and processes the quarterly returns. Timely filing and payment to the base jurisdiction for all member jurisdictions discharges the licensee's duty to file separate returns and pay each member jurisdiction individually. A quarterly tax return is required even if no operations were conducted or no taxable fuel was used during the period.

If you are organizing your records, the features page shows how this packet fits with the rest of the workflow.

PDF export

You can export the packet as a PDF for your own file. That export is useful for recordkeeping, but it is not a substitute form and it does not replace the return your base jurisdiction furnishes.

Use it alongside the return, not instead of it, when you prepare your filing.

Not tax advice. Haulbook is not IFTA, Inc. and not your base jurisdiction. The rate is published quarterly by IFTA and must be checked on the official IFTA site.
